Oh my goth!

As I outlined in my ´´what to excpect for fall´´ post I mentioned several times how things will take a dark turn this fall. When virtually everything has been about prints, prints and more prints last seasons I find it very comforting to see some pure black again. Black is one of my colors and yeeesss it is a color! In my opinion anyways..

 I find it very fresh again just to see some solid colors. Have it be monochrome ( all in the same color), colorblocked ( few colors put together) or if you must, with a hint of print. I´ve really been thinking about this print business and as much as I love it I long for something simpler, more rich. More textures mismatched and a little less print. Just thinking out loud here. Anyways, what inspires you at the moment? I´ve been thinking and for myself I´ve been going back to my goth roots recently. Not that I´ve actually been a goth goth, you know in that sence but I´ve always had it in me. You saw the shoes I got recently from Nostalgia right?! Something feels very fresh about this sort of look again. Also manly looking loafers. Got my eye on a pair...

 Goth goes back to the punk period (which I´m also very inspired by) where the lips started to get darker, hair color followed suit and pallid complexions were the only way to go. I´m feeling inspired to use some parts of the harshest side and mix it up with the complete opposite. Like white childlike socks. Dolllike dresses but pared with a spiked choker necklace. Black-ish lips with a sheer white shirt. You get where I´m going. The Japanies, especially those who hail from Tokyo have a fun twist on this. I´ve been to Tokyo twice and found their style simply amazing.  I´d like to see this look updated without the overuse of spikes. Frankly I´m getting sick of spikes. I think we should all give them a rest for now.

Excellent! All of it! Looks like even the major fashion houses are also inspired by goth glam. Just look at that nose jewellery from Givency in the picture above. Genius! You can also see a recent campaign by Versace above which I very much like plus some excamples from the fall shows 2012. Anyways, here below are some things I wish I could be wearing right now but can´t due to a lack of waist.

How come I all of a sudden want to wear high waisted pants again plus belts that cinch in my waist?! It´s because I can´t I tell you..

After I made the post below I couldn´t stop thinking about the velvet overall from Aftur. The one that got away..Anyhow, I remembered that one of my best friends got one and I immediately called her to borrow it! So I wore it today. I love how I look like a giant starfish in it.

Ok. Breathe. There are sooo many things I would love to have for fall and well, lets face it, in general. Here are some items that are on my dreamlist. Gotta dream big right?!

Ohh, Balenciaga! I love you! I want kind of a plasticky looking/leather overall for fall and for everything!

Usually I´m not much of a fan of Chloé but their fall line was very beautiful. I really like those red pants..Seem so soft and cozy.

Ok. I think I told you before that Proenza Schouler is one of my favourite designers. I was especially fond of this leather/ mesh/ kimono style jacket from their fall collection.

Plasticky looking, loose fitted leather pants. I NEED THOSE! These are from Topshop Unique collection. Very nice.. Anyone know where I could get similar ones in Iceland? Please tell me!

A space sweater. Perferably in wet-suit looking fabric. Like the ones Balenciaga showcased at their fall collection. Actually a space t-shirt would also be nice..

 

This dress from Vivienne Westwood! I love the hobo feeling it has. Kind of like it came right out of the garbage. Nice.

 

 

OMG, and the shoes!! Also Vivienne Westwood. I shall say no more. Genius!

Ahhh, the velvet overall. I´m still upset I didn´t get my hands on one when Bára in Aftur was making them, I think like tvo years ago. Make them again please?!

Again with Balenciaga. These babies were available tvo seasons ago but sold out veerry quickly. I´m not surprised. They´ve started making them again and I would love nothing more than to have a pare. Yes, please!!

 

I really love this Celine colored fur. I want one for fall. I have one (not Celine though) in midnight blue which I´ll show you later but man would I like to have this baby! Just look at the details in the back and the way it hangs..It´s perfect.

This dress is lovely. I was very pleased with the Topshop Unique fall line. I kind of want everything they did there. A very good job indeed. I do love a sack dress. And it´s my color!

More from Topshop Unique. This coat is everything I want. It´s long, military and the colors, oh so nice and rich. I´m going to try to find a similar one. You know where I could find one?

Gorgeous skirt!! Iwant, I want, I want!!! NOW! I love how it hangs from the hips, and the leather at the bottom, the length of it, color..Everything!

That´s it for now. Don´t get me wrong, I have a lot of other stuff on my wishlist but I was afraid I´d bore you with more. I´ll do another wanted list very soon!

I´ll never admit this if you ask me but recently I´ve kind of been having a hard time fitting into my pants..The tight ones that is. Therefor I´ve been investing in a lot of loose fitting sweaters, layering prospects and so on. Which is great ecspecially since fall is coming. But just a heads up that my outfits from now on until..lets say, november, will be in a little more ´´ layered over dresses´´ kind of way. You´ll just have to excuse moi for now. Besides, the art of layering is a challenging one. I always find it interesting. How one mixes things together and then you see another person with the same items of clothing but put together totally differently. I´ll tell you this though: I will not cave in and start to wear velour sweatsuits, I promise!

The sky is Red

I just love the red color of this dress. Again this is a very similar color to my red Chloé shoes which I wore in Soul Killers recently. LOVE. Yes, I´ve started to like wearing this sort of red again. I think it goes great with army green, but then again I think everything goes great with army green! This dress I can keep on wearing into winter as well because it´s actually a wool dress. Yes, it was quite warm to be wearing it this summer. I don´t know what´s up with me and wearing the typical summery clothes..I just wear winter clothes in summery colors. If that. Anyways, here´s a close-up of my treasured Doc Martens. Seriously a good buy. I can wear these babies from morning till dusk and don´t feel a thing. Why don´t they make more shoes like that? One wonders..

Ok, was just in Nostalgia, my favourite vintage shop in Iceland and I couldn´t resist! Aren´t they beauties?! Love the 90´s feel. I have been looking for you forever and finally you´re here!! Happy, happy, happy! By the way, they just restocked their shop and seriously you have to go take a look. The stuff is awesome! I also got some more, but will save that to show you for later.

I just wanted to give you a quick look at my eyeballs here. Just got them new glasses. Finally ones I can wear with my outfits. I know they´re kind of nerdy looking but I think they will be quite versatile. You see, I already have cat-eye glasses but never end up wearing them except at home because they don´t really go with anything I wear. An impulse buy, shall we say.. Anyways, that´s all for today and yes I´m aware that I´m lame for taking self portraits. What, nobody was around!!

Dramatic Yardwork

So here´s me doing some yardwork! Nahh, not really. This is how I would dress though! Behold one of my favourite overalls; it´s white, has pockets and the possibilty of looking like a giant baby when wearing. I love it. I didn´t realize until after we shot this how very clockwork orangey of me this look is. Nice. Also, soon it will be fall so I´m using every opportunity to dress inappropriately in white. Not much more to say about this one.
