Lets get physical

Hello there! No that´s not me! Hehe..After being a couch potato for almost a year now I´ve been thinking it´s maybe time to get my ass moving. Although I was going to the gym on and off ( that means almost never) I´m not so inclined to go there again. Honestly, who can say that they just luuvvee to go to the gym?! Not me anyways..The only thing is that like most people I do crave the results from going. Sooo I guess I have to start thinking about plan B- what kind of excercise can I do that is both good and fun? I´ve done yoga and quite like it but as with the gym I want to try something totally new. I´ve always wanted to try some sort of martial/defencive arts so I googled Kung Fu and as it turns out they do teach it here in Iceland! That´s not a given by the way..
Anyways, so I think that´s going to be my next thing- try some Kung Fu, Thai Chi and all that. Also I´ve heard some great things about pole-fitness, although I just don´t see myself swinging from that pole so much...
I´m way ahead of myself I do realize..Lets face it, with Christmas coming and all..I´m never going to start till January. Now it´s the time to think about what kind of cookies to bake! Yes that´s right- I´m an avid baker! Last week I did Red Velvet cake-my first time doing that one and it was amazing if I do say so myself!! Yumm.. Maybe I´ll give you guys some recepies soon..
What do ya know- From excercise to baking. Talk about ADD..

Cravings

I was taking a walk today and stopped by some of my favourite shops. Of course I found a bunch of stuff I wanted. These crystal soaps were amongst the beauties I wouln´t mind in the lovely Aftur shop. I can´t believe how amazing they look-soaps!!

What´s better then a lovely candle to brighten up the gloomy days of fall..The ones from Voluspa are excellent and the smell is devine! I want this one next. Also avalable in the Aftur shop.

OMG! I tried this dress on from Raquel Allegra the other day and fell in love! Still don´t know why it´s not in my hands by now...Also from the Aftur shop.

And some more lovely stuff from Aftur and Raquel Allegra, siiigghhhh.....I want it all. NOW!

Now, I´m normally not the one for the glizty stuff but ones in a while I find something I find nice. Like this miniature clutch/bag. I don´t know if it´s because Christmas is coming that I´m suddenly attracted by this shiny object or if it´s because I´m evolving in some weird way. Anyways, the texture is matte so it´s allowed. Not too flashy. I saw this baby in the Mila shop on Laugarvegur (I think it is Mila..). I think it could be perfect-especially with the holydays coming up. Yay!!

And last but not least I went to Jet Korine and saw this cool wool vest which I woulnd´t mind..She also does amazing coats, all sorts of cool stuff. I´m always introuble when I visit her shop cause I want everything!

Anyways- I have to get started on the Christmas gifts, siigghhhh... Soo much easier buying stuff for myself, which I sometimes end up doing hehe..Looking forward to amazing Christmas!

Till next time

Birthday girl!

Happy birthday to me! Yes it´s my birthday today and sure do I have a lot of things to be grateful for. Good health, great family and overall awesome-ness:) Me and the gang ( my man and Wolfie) went out for a stroll in the rain and grabbed us some delicious sushi, my favourite! That was after a lovely morning of excellent gifts and flowers. Anyways, just wanted to brag some;) Oh and by the way, have you met my new red and black custum made AFTUR leatherpants?! Nice huh?! I´ll show you the details later..One more thing. Aftur just opened their new shop on Laugarvegur and it´s full of all sorts of amazement. They recently decided to start making leather things again ( can´t tell you how happy that makes me) and it´s really worth checking out. Laters skaters!

skincare and make up

skincare and make up

Well hello there! Long time no see! Sorry for the blog lacking (word?!). Anyways I decided to show you guys what´s in my day to day make up and skincare bag. I´ll start with skincare. Now, I´m a firm believer in taking good care of my skin-both face and body. Let me assure you that when it comes to face creams and body lotions I´ve been there tried that. And what I found was that in the end the prize tags and promises were not worth much-usually a let down. Sooo after years in experimenting with different products I believe I´ve finally found the best shit products (well at least for me). My skin seems to agree with organic stuff. Now I wish I could state that I use organic because I´m so green and all but that´s not the reason. I simply find them better, at least the ones above. So here I give you my top three face creams-all of which I rotate around using depending on the weather and how my skin is feeling. I find the EGF facecream works wonders both in winter and in the summer, Dr. Hauschka Moisturizing Day Cream works best in summer because it´s farly light and Sóley-Glóey facecream- which I´m using now is just great. I´ve only been using it for about a week and seriously it´s becoming my favourite.

The skin is our biggest organ so we should treat it kindly. In the winter time- especially in Iceland, my skin tends to get a little dry. Now as I said I´ve been known to try a lot of body lotions as well as face creams and again I must say it´s usually empty promises. Until recently! I descovered oils-haha I know I´m not inventing something new here but seriously I never thought to try it. So what I´ve been using and loving is Grapeseed oil. It´s super moisturizing, goes fast into the skin, is organic and it´s cheap! You can usually get one at a drugstore or even the supermarket (Hagkaup). So there you go- my skin favourites!

And now for the make up. Now I don´t use a lot of make up on a daily basis but there are a few things I like. As you can see I´m a MAC fan. I just find their products the best when it comes to make up-well, most of them. I don´t use foundation everyday but with the cold weather in Iceland I tend to use it mainly for protection. And the brush ( above) I find is a must to apply it with. Then we have the Brow Set- clear gel to set and hold the eyebrows. I´m an eye brow fanatic. I can seriously spend half an hour doing my eye brows so this item is essential for me. Then there´s the mascara- False Lashes Extreme Black. I´ve tried a lot of mascaras and this one really does it for me. It can look like you have no mascara, can build up nicely, make a dramatic effect, lenghten..the whole package. As I said I don´t use foundation every day- don´t like looking too overdone so a good concealer is a must. MAC does a good one-Studio Finish concealer. I tend to get a little shiny which can sometimes be nice but I don´t want to look like an oil painting sooo powder it is. This blot powder is great because you don´t need to apply it often in the day. Then there is the blush. I don´t use blush very often but I decided to throw it in because this is my favourite one. It´s called Strada from MAC and it´s brilliant for contouring the face-no shimmer bullshit. And of course I remembered they stopped making it. Of course. But I bet you can ask for something similar.

There you have it! I spilled the beans. Hope you guys didn´t die whilst reading this- if so at least you died reading something majorly important! Anyways, me myself is yawning by now so I´ll stop. Have a good one!

VOLG-behind the scenes

We started off by going to MAC Kringlan and there I got my brilliant make up done by Harpa Káradóttir and later my hair was done by Sigrún Jóhanna Eiríksdóttir. I really loved both the make up and the hair. They did kind of a warrrior inspired look-strong eyes, strong lips which usually I find can be a bit much but when it comes to photoshoots, both can really work!

This is the amazing headpiece which stylist-Sara María Júlíudóttir handmade! Pretty cool huh?!

Ásta Kristjánsdóttir, the photographer and Sara the stylist..setting up in the studio.

Posing away..

Different hairstyle- This was my favourite! We ended up going to this abandoned warehouse to shoot the rest which was really fun.

Excactly!

Getting ready..Sara wrapped me in some pink tulle, put a belt around it and voilà!

Haha! Pretty good for one who´s seven months pregnant;)

Just trying something here..

The end:)

You guys can check out the magazine now, it´s out and running. I think you can also see it online at volg.is. I´ve read it and I think it´s really off to great start. Congrats!
